Medical Missions by Waverley Foot and Ankle Surgeon—Dr. Bruce Lehnert

Dr. Bruce Lehnert, a Waverley affiliated Foot and Ankle surgeon has a long history of participating in medical missions through an organization called the International Extremity Project (IEP).

The International Extremity Project provides support for humanitarian projects and supplies medical assistance to the people of Vietnam. Dr. Lehnert stated: “Seeing people whose lives have changed because of our help is at the heart of practicing medicine. Some of our patients lived on the fringe of society because of their deformities. To see them walk without crutches and assume a new level of confidence and function is truly amazing. It is what keeps me coming back again and again.”

And that is why Dr. Lehnert will return to Vietnam in November 2010!
